"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."
About Me
They say, luck comes when hard work meets opportunity, and Greg Simas is living proof.
Born and raised on the west coast in Elk Grove, California, the six year dedicated Marine began riding bulls for the Military Rodeo Cowboys Association in 1996, spending five years twisting buckers.
Honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1999, he pulled his bull rope for the last time in 2000, but continued to attend weekly jackpots with friends.
Announcing, started as an accident.
Seen in sports history time and again, fate was about to step in as an unknown, Greg Simas, was asked to fill in for the jackpot’s sick announcer. Mic in hand, twenty contestants he knew, and an audience of just fifty, a new announcer was born.
As word spread, Greg was asked to announce the PHSFR in 2001 and with rented equipment, called a few more events that year and expected his ride to be over...that was, until the calls started coming in for the 2002 season.
Quitting two jobs to throw his announcer’s hat into the professional arena full time might have been the best decision of Greg's life. Now announcing over 100 performances a year, Greg also announces for the United States Hot Rod Association Monster Jam tour and is already a 4x Dodge First Frontier Circuit Finals announcer, as well as a 3x National High School Rodeo Finals announcer.
When not on the road, Greg enjoys time on his farm with barrel racing wife, Jen, son Tyler James and their latest edition to the family, Riley. A consistent First Frontier Circuit Finals qualifier, Jen is an exceptional talent who also trains barrel horses when not running at pro rodeos. Like father, like son, it’s proving hard to keep a safe rope in Tyler’s hands, and not one attached to a cowbell.
Golfer, hunter, and fisherman, Greg Simas has life by the horns and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Quotes
"Having worked with Greg at Cowtown Rodeo as well as The First Frontier Circuit Finals 2007, I find him to be an exceptional rodeo announcer. His professionalism and knowledge of the rodeo industry, along with his enthusiasm and powerful voice make him enjoyable to listen to. He will be working The First Frontier Circuit Finals in Harrisburg,Pa for the second time in January 2009. It is in my experience and opinion that any committee would benefit by having Greg announce their rodeo." - Betsy Harris First Frontier Circuit President
"There is always upcoming talent in the rodeo business, some better than others. Greg Simas, rodeo announcer is one of the better ones. I have worked with him at various rodeos on the east coast. I found him to be very professional. If you are looking for an announcer I do recommend Greg Simas to announce your next rodeo. Dont be afraid to give this new guy a chance. He will do a great job!" - Keith Isley 2x PRCA clown of the year
"Greg not only seved the traditional role of rodeo announcer in an exemplary fashion, both during the performances and prior to them in his in depth preparatory work, but also went well above the call of duty by coming to Marshfield a day early and accompanying us and a number of professional rodeo contestants to the Jimmy Fund Clinic in Boston, MA, a pediatric cancer treatment facility operated as part of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Greg interacted in a very warm and engaging manner with the kids and their families, and later during the rodeo performance, shared his experience and insights from the visit with the thousands in attendance, bringing the power of our mission and purpose to life in a way that touched all who heard his words. I commend Greg for his work in our 2008 event, and we look forward to having him continue as "The Voice of the New England Wild West Fest" for years to come." - Mike Allison Founder and Executive Director. Spirit Of The American Cowboy Foundation and New England Wild West Fest PRCA Rodeo
"Greg Simas has announced the Adirondack Stampede Charity Rodeo for the last 3 years and has done an outstanding job. He is equally comfortable announcing from horseback, or behind the podium. I have worked with him as a contract act as well as a committeeman and in both cases Greg is ready, willing and able to assist in any way he can. He has an in depth knowledge of our sponsors and thoroughly understands the importance of giving sponsors the exposure they expect from our event. Rodeo is all about entertaining the audience and helping them have the best time possible, and Greg accomplishes that. In addition, Greg is one of the best at announcing and running sound simultaneously. I have had the opportunity to work with Greg for about 100 performances in the last few years and he continues to learn and grow as an announcer, with the voice to back it up!" - Jeff Reynolds Commetteeman Adirandack Stampede Charity Rodeo and PRCA Trick roper
